It’s no Secret that our Ray Of Light, the ultimate queen of pop MADONNA is touring her greatest hits right now in London, and we’re Burning Up with excitement!

Since she’s only used Manchester as a rehearsal space, we’ll be Causing A Commotion by hosting a night dedicated to her this Saturday 21st October at Aatma in Manchester – Sorry ’bout it!

???? YOU CAN DANCE: We’ll be playing all our Material Girl’s best Music, including singles, album tracks, collaborations and the occasional Deeper And Deeper cut. It’s a 100% pure Celebration of Madonna, so that’s all you’ll be dancing to all night!

HMS Morris + Elin Grace and Sad Sells

HMS Morris are a bilingual, award-winning, female-fronted art-rock four-piece from Cardiff, Wales. Supported by the esteemed Bubblewrap Collective (Georgia Ruth, Boy Azooga, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzzard, Sweet Baboo), their first two critically acclaimed albums, ‘Interior Design’ and ‘Inspirational Talks,’ were both Welsh Music Prize nominees and variously described as ‘Innovative, forward thinking pop music’ (Earthly Pleasures), ‘strange and beautiful music’ (Electronic Sound) and a ‘multi-dimensional sound that traipses across hitherto unexplored regions of sound’ (Clash)’. They’ve earned a reputation for their innovative and multi-dimensional sound that pushes boundaries and explores uncharted territories.

They’re now still basking in the warm glow that accompanied the release of their third studio album, ‘Dollar Lizard Money Zombie,’ on September 15th this year. It is a playful repudiation of the worldview that reduces 99% of us to braindead money zombies, labouring for the glorious empires of a few giant dollar lizards. It is the first HMS album to feature Billy Morley and Iestyn Huw Jones on guitar and drums, and ranges from 50s cowboy sweetness to electro-metal madness, from rambling acoustic prog to the tightest of synth-pop ditties. The album takes listeners on a thought-provoking journey, infused with the band’s signature wit and humour, showcasing their ability to blend profound introspection with lighthearted storytelling.
Their mesmerising live performances have delighted audiences across the globe, gracing renowned festivals like Green Man, Glastonbury, Sŵn, Suns and Pop Montreal. Sharing the stage with acclaimed artists like Melin Melyn, Another Sky, Wooze, Songhoy Blues and Tricot, they leave a lasting impact on fans and fellow musicians alike.

In Your Ears Music Presents WYNONA BLEACH Live from Aatma, Manchester!

Fusing epic shoegaze textures with melodic alt-rock and dream pop, Northern Irish quintet Wynona Bleach officially formed in Belfast in 2018. Prior to this they toured heavily under a different moniker including Reading & Leeds festivals and a 10 date Russian headline tour.

In January of 2018, they issued their debut single “Eyes Burning ,” and followed this up with a self-titled EP “Sugar“, pressed on limited edition green vinyl under their own label “Madame Mazu”. 
In 2019/2020, weeks after being personally chosen as support for Alice In Chains on the Irish leg of their world tour, Wynona Bleach moved a full recording studio from Belfast to an abandoned warehouse near Coimbra, Portugal, where they lived & worked with Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral) to record their first full length LP “Moonsoake” – a release delayed by covid restrictions and vinyl-shortages.

The album was partly mixed by Grammy Nominated mixing engineers Avril Mackintosh and Andy Bradfield (Rufus Wainwright, Manic Street Preachers , The xx + more). 
 Ahead of their debut in 2022 they released 4 singles from their debut, “Glimmer“, “Drag“, “Aubergines” and “Moonsoake”and announced their signing to Fierce Panda Records . The debut album “Moonsoake” was released on Feb 18th 2022.

Kained are a 5 piece Indie punk psych rock band formed in the UKs north west pubs and late night taxi ranks. Taking influence from all genres and inspiration from life in these troubled times. Here to play loud and proud. New single ‘Ring The Bell’ out now .

 Test Card Girl is a solo project by Manchester singer-songwriter Catherine Burgis. Having grown increasingly frustrated with an admin-based existence, Catherine performed her first gig as a solo artist in February 2020, with all subsequent gigs immediately being cancelled due to the dawning of the global pandemic. With live performance not possible, Catherine turned her attention to recording and released her first single ‘Holds Me Down’ in 2020. The single was picked up by BBC 6Music, Radio X, Absolute Radio and XS Manchester and she was named Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6 Music ‘One to Watch’ in January 2021.

Join Pop Curious? at Aatma to celebrate the masterworks of both Girls Aloud and Sugababes at Aatma in Manchester on Friday 27th January!
We’ll be playing all their best singles, album tracks and solo material from members of each band, including songs from the latest Sugababes album The Lost Tapes! Yes, we’re playing nothing but Sugababes and Girls Aloud related bangers from doors to close!
We’ll be pimping out our usual pop star face masks and song requests in exchange for a donation to The Christie on the night (cash or card accepted), and you can also donate via the ticket link as a separate option. Evidence of all your donations will be posted on the event page and on our Instagram account a few days after the event has taken place.
