BJØRN FELLE
Sitting on a branch with a Game Boy and a cup of earl grey, Bjørn Felle takes pot-shots at narcissists with an idiosyncratic electronic sound inspired by 80s synthpop and punk, 90s techno, house and indie grunge, the odd 16-bit video game soundtrack, and a healthy dose of psychedelia.

In November we have an all dayer, this is now a benefit for Food Not Bombs, who we all know as a classic and valiant cause, also Anti Raids Leeds – who do amazing work in Yorkshire… both of these causes are fantastic and help some of the most vulnerable people.
To shatter what’s left of the husk of your inner ear canal, we have the hard-hitting, legendary sludge of Moloch from the Midlands. It has been a fair while since they have played Manchester, and bringing them here for such an amazing cause is an absolute pleasure. They are looking forward to shattering what’s left of your hearing.
We have support bands from all over the North and Mids, to bring you the heaviest and scuzziest slices of punk and hardcore. There’s a multitude of fantastic styles here, all coming together to raise funds.

Beyond The Music 2024

BEYOND THE MUSIC has announced 70 new artists for its 2024 music lineup. Partnering with brand new curators for its second year, including SXSW, Manchester Pride, BBC Introducing and Secret Garden Party, Beyond The Music will welcome over 200 artists to perform for its 3 day takeover of Manchester’s Northern Quarter and Aviva Studios from 9th – 12th October 2024. Tickets for the second edition of Beyond The Music are available here.

Led by its NO ARTISTS. NO MUSIC ethos, the music lineup for Beyond The Music 2024 strives to showcase a genre-spanning range of grassroots artists on a global platform. Its by-night music programme will follow upon 3 days of vital music industry conversation between some of the most important voices in music, tech and content at Aviva Studios; offering brand new artists from Manchester and beyond the chance to perform in front of some of the industry’s most powerful players.

Earlier this year, the festival issued a call out for new artists to perform at Beyond The Music 2024. As a result, 70 brand new artists have been added to this year’s festival, with 25% of the lineup dedicated to local North West-based artists, including [ K S R ], Yasmin Coe, poor effort., Moreish Idols, Cody Frost and more.

Speaking about the lineup for Beyond The Music 2024, festival founder Oli Wilson says: “Our festival is all about supporting the new wave of music talent. We haven’t booked headliners, we’ve selected this lineup with an amazing range of curators and also from several thousand new artists that applied to play this year.

From going through that process and booking the festival it seems like there is a revolution pending in music and we’re really proud to be able to give a platform to this new generation of musicians. The talent isn’t just in one genre, it’s in every genre, and we’re representing that diverse mix of music and people in the festival.”

Skulk Of Foxes, Run Remedy & POCKETKNIFE

Skulk Of Foxes, the alternative folk-rock tandem hailing from Manchester, is a captivating synergy between the vocals of Beth Rigby and the instrumental work of Rob Aldridge. Infusing their music with a magnetic blend of gothic allure and dark folk, Skulk Of Foxes weaves a spellbinding tapestry that transcends genres. For fans of Wolf Alice, Band Of Skulls, Daughter, Phoebe Bridgers with a bit more fuzz.

Run Remedy is the musical project of Robin Koob – self-proclaimed Jersey trash and Manchester ‘string-slut’. Robin’s particular flavour of Americana is laced with equal parts grief and fun-loving irony, exploring the complexities of familial rejection, patriotism, and living in the shadows of clichés. It offers a “moving, melancholic” (BBC Radio Kent) experience reminiscent of artists like Julia Jacklin, Fiona Apple, and Andy Shauf. With a penchant for both candour and wisecracks, her songs speak to empathetic listeners who, as Robin explains, “enjoy a cheesy joke as much as a good cry.”

POCKETKNIFE
POCKETKNIFE, originating from Welsh and Mancunian lands, are a melodic post-hardcore duo known for their dynamic style. They draw inspiration from influential bands like Biffy Clyro, PJ Harvey, QOTSA, and Dinasour Jr. Previously, they supported acts such as Lightning Bolt, The Joy Formidable, Melt-Banana and Twin Atlantic. After a long pause from the scene, they are now back making new music and can’t wait to see you up front at their next show.

The Bad Wires + special guests

The Bad Wires are an upcoming 3 piece rock and roll band from Manchester, England. Their dirty, bluesy, guitar based tunes are heavily reminiscent of artists such as Jack White, The Black Keys and The Stooges. While managing to stay quintessentially British in their lyrical and vocal attack, there’s also a cinematic edge to their numbers that they credit to artist like Lana Del Rey and Arctic Monkeys, making The Bad Wires a band to definitely look out for in the future.
