On Wed Feb 12, Picky New Promotions are proud to present ELEPHANT AND THE RIDER with support from Murks (Marburg, DE), Midscale (Paris, FR) and locals Sweet Gene Vincent, at Aatma in Manchester.
Elephant and The Rider are a 4-piece independent band birthed in Cheadle. Creating ripples in the local Manchester music scene, their first year of releases saw them amass over 20k streams, as well as receiving various notable radio attention in the UK and USA. Upcoming EP ‘Forever Didn’t Last That Long’ is set to release this year, making 2025 a very exciting time to be following Elephant and The Rider.
Support comes from German garage surf punk band Murks and French shoegazers Midscale. Both bands are making their Manchester debut! And opening are locals Sweet Gene Vincent.
The Buoys are an all-woman rock band from Sydney, Australia, celebrated for their high-energy performances and compelling songwriting. Emerging from the local DIY scene, they’ve swiftly become one of Australia’s most exciting and dynamic live acts. Blending gritty rock, punchy punk, and honest lyricism, The Buoys’ music resonates with fans both domestically and internationally.
The Ocean New celebrate the release of Ancient Codes by playing THE ENTIRE ALBUM LIVE at AATMA.
The Ocean New formed in 2022 in Manchester, England.
United by their love of cinema and progressive rock, they began creating music that marries the wall-rumbling heaviness of the progressive and post-rock bands that shaped their playing with the epic and adventurous nature of cinema’s great composers.

VIEON mark a decade since their debut AnalogueTrash release with a special intimate anniversary show at one of their favourite venues, with support from Lines of Silence and Bjørn Felle.

Lines of Silence are an experimental kosmische band from the stranger reaches of North West England. LOS combine experimental analogue and digital electronics, motorik beats, improvisation and drone rock guitar explosions to create an immersive, expansive and contemporary take on psychedelia.

Sitting on a branch with a Game Boy and a cup of earl grey, Bjørn Felle takes pot-shots at narcissists with an idiosyncratic electronic sound inspired by 80s synthpop and punk, 90s techno, house and indie grunge, the odd 16-bit video game soundtrack, and a healthy dose of psychedelia.

AnalogueTrash is an independent record label, promoter, and new music blog based in Todmorden that specialises in post-punk, indie/alternative, electronica, and leftfield pop. We release records, we put on grassroots gigs, club nights and festivals; and we shout about great music via our blogs, podcasts and playlists.
In November we have an all dayer, this is now a benefit for Food Not Bombs, who we all know as a classic and valiant cause, also Anti Raids Leeds – who do amazing work in Yorkshire… both of these causes are fantastic and help some of the most vulnerable people.
To shatter what’s left of the husk of your inner ear canal, we have the hard-hitting, legendary sludge of Moloch from the Midlands. It has been a fair while since they have played Manchester, and bringing them here for such an amazing cause is an absolute pleasure. They are looking forward to shattering what’s left of your hearing.
We have support bands from all over the North and Mids, to bring you the heaviest and scuzziest slices of punk and hardcore. There’s a multitude of fantastic styles here, all coming together to raise funds.
