San Pedro Collective are an 8 piece band from Manchester, creating genre-defying tunes that blend elements of everything from funk to punk, electronica to rock’n’roll, and basically whatever else we feel like.
Originally spawned from the nucleus of Rikki Turner’s electronic project ‘San Pedro’, in mid-2019 Turner was joined by Justin Leonard on guitar, Keith Higgins on bass, and Simon Wolstencroft on drums…and the Collective was born.
Working with guest vocalists Jasmine Needham, Sarah Bouchier and Millie MacBean throughout 2020, the band recorded and released the ‘Phase Two EP’ in July 2021 to rave reviews.
While Turner has since moved on to start his next project, the band have gone from strength to strength and the addition of Sam Murray on lead guitar, Jeff Black and John Montague on keys, and Rick Burrows on Trumpet has given the band a full and dynamic live sound and opened up a new world of sonic possibilities, topped off perfectly by our new permanent frontwoman Nathalie Haley on lead vocals.
Shelton San are a noise rock band from the small Estonian music scene, formed in 2002 in Tallinn, Estonia. Shelton San,have released two albums (2006 & 2011) and two EP’s (2005 & 2022).
Shelton San’s debut album, “Spontaneous Black” received the Estonian Music Award and esteemed Estonian music critic, Mart Juur, named the album among the 101 Best Albums of Estonian Popular Music.
Shelton San, are locally known in Estonia, for their powerful and ecstatic live performances, gaining a large cult following in Estonia.
As well as performing live in their home country, Shelton San have played in Latvia, Finland, Sweden and Germany (and soon, the UK), supporting acclaimed bands such as Mastodon, Wooden Ships and Moon Duo.
You might describe Shelton San’s sound as a massive sonic wall, a blend of rationality and irrationality, screeching feedback, dissonant notes, vocals juxtaposed between melodic singing and shouting, combined with rock-solid drum and bass section, catchy guitar riffs and logical musical progression.
Shelton San, elaborate, never sterile, hypnotic but not monotonous, nuanced yet not overwhelming, raw, but never sloppy. As noted by Mart Juur, “There’s nothing redundant. Beautiful, grand, horrifying. In the end, there are ruins and void”.
