Mutualism Presents: Mun Sing
January 18 @ 11:00 pm - January 19 @ 4:00 am
Mun Sing – LIVE SET [Infinite Machine / Svbkvlt / Giant Swan]
Hesska b2b Clemency
Mun Sing [LIVE]
A favourite of our curators since he dropped the Witness EP on Infinite Machine in 2016, we are endlessly excited to bring Mun Sing to Manchester as our first booking of the year. Raising to critical and club acclaim with his other project Giant Swan, Bristol’s Harry Wright bottles the intensity and energy of his earlier projects and his city to create abrasive, disjointed club music, awash with reverb and mired in distortion: cold drum workouts and synthetic grime-tinged techno. Mun Sing’s live sets are relentless and unpredictable – we’ve seen him craft sets from the most polar, powerful sounds, rhythms and Nicki Minaj samples. Dance routines, obnoxious visuals and brash costumes all feature in the live show, where Mun Sing uses these elements as a means to highlight inclusivity, movement and fun. Due to drop his second EP “Scissor” in December, we can’t wait to see what he’ll bring to Aatma.

Hesska [Castles in The Sky/NTS] B2B Clemency [Mutualism/Limbo Radio]
The end of the night will see two of the city’s most eclectic club DJs go back to back. Birthday girl Clemency joined Mutualism in early 2018 following a relocation from Sheffield. Infamous in her hometown for gelling disparate, dark selections, the former Hybrid Vigour resident has risen in acclaim in Manchester for her tense, heavy reinterpretations of grime, techno and trap. With little necessary introduction, Castles in the Sky’s Hesska is a Mutualism favourite. Equally comfortable crafting atmospheric ambient openers and relentless, thumping closers, her sets are a masterclass in expert selection and innovative mixing. Expect a pounding, unpredictable end to the night.

Iceboy Violet [TT/Mutualism]
Mutualism resident and recent TT recruit Iceboy Violet will be opening the night with a DJ set. Known for blurring the lines between noise, grime, fashion and performance art – no iceboy show is the same.

Leftovers founder and Mutualism resident BFTT will be back behind the decks for us. Check out past releases on Cong Burn, TT and most recently a Whities split release with De School’s upsammy.
