FAZI (China) w/ Locean & Karl D’Silva

April 3, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 10:59 pm

FAZI (former the Fuzz) formed in February 2010 in the ancient capital, Xi’an. Their music brims with abundant vitality, moves its audience from the inside, stirring anger in their calm. On stage they’re like a perpetual motion machine, relentlessly generating captivating noise. Their lyrics are layered like a palimpsest over a guitar sound like a smoldering explosion and a powerful rhythm section. Their music points directly to your heart, simply but forcefully.
October 2013, FAZI released debut album “Running Horse”. March 2015, they released a 7 inch vinyl “Golden Cage” then signed to Maybe Mars. In early 2016, their second studio album “Root of Innocence” was released. Afterwards, FAZI went on a massive 43-city album release tour in China in March and April. One year later, in April 2017, FAZI went abroad for the first time. They had 14 shows and 2 festival showcases in Italy, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. FAZI eared applause and praise with their proudly Chinese singing. Europeans were surprised by this post-punk band from China. The albums and merch FAZI brought were sold out even before the tour finished. Now, FAZIs third album “Heart of Desire” is coming, with 8 tracks they recorded on the way of their last China tour, available in digital, CD, cassette and vinyl.

LOCEAN are a psychedelic collective that, since 2012, have existed with a revolving cast. They tap into a singular, powerful sound. The group are a truly elemental force – and whilst their tenure as a band has seen has seen collaborations with the likes of Gnod and Luminous Bodies – at the eye of the storm are guitarist Jay Temple and vocalist Lauren Bolger. One-part Teenage Jesus, one-part Birthday Party and two-parts Spacemen 3, Locean’s music creates a world wherein time crawls at a snail’s pace but the ground shakes with a volcanic intensity.

KARL D’SILVA
https://www.facebook.com/krldslv/
Karl D’Silva is a polyglot, having performed across multiple projects and styles with raw determination. He’s perhaps most known for his incredible saxophone work where he uses circular breathing to rattle through drones and arpeggios, often performing alongside Rian Treanor’s (Death of Rave, Planet Mu) dexterous electronics. He’s got an incredible CV, as a current member of noise/power electronics group The Vanishing, and with past performances alongside Thurston Moore, Damo Suzuki, Okkyung Lee, Ex-Easter Island Head, Rhys Chatham and Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire to name a few. He’s now turned his hand to solo pop music and early signs look like it’s going to be an incredible project. – Nick Hughes, The Pink Wafer
