Digitise #002; WBBL, Skank Spinatra, Illgorhythms, Quack Tactics
June 8 @ 10:00 pm - June 9 @ 3:00 am
After our sold out first event we’ve decided to bring the second event forward and do things a little sooner then previously planned. We’re making additions to this night, we will have an increased lighting package! We have a Headline Act who’s has toured CONTINENTS and we’ve also got some of our close Manchester mates onboard. We’re extremely excited to announce our DJ Line up;
WBBL specialises in beats bigger than Ben Nevis and basslines chunkier than that milk you forgot to throw out last week. With releases on Bombstrikes, Ghetto Funk, Jalapeño, Scour and Sunday Best, his tunes have gained support from the likes of A Skillz, DJ Yoda, Ed Solo, Feautrecast, Krafty Kuts, JFB, The Funk Hunters and that bloke in a van at a festival campsite playing music way too loud until 6am.
It’s hard to describe exactly what an average WBBL set comprises of, as no one has ever witnessed him play a set that is just ‘average’. It is foretold in the musical scriptures that his performances feature live re-interpretations of original dancefloor destroyers, remixes of literally all the classics and quite possibly the wobbliest sounds known to man. From bassline to drum & bass, hip hop to house, funk to punk, no genre is safe from WBBL’s production prowess.
Aside from making clubs up and down the UK bounce on the regular, WBBL is no stranger to headlining festival stages all over the world, navigating the fields of Glastonbury, Shambhala (CAN), Shambala (UK), Bestival, Boomtown, Astral Harvest, Shindig and Sunrise to name but a few. The man is immeasurably wobbly and just won’t quit until everyone knows it.
Illgorhythms met at Sun and Bass back in 2014 since then they’ve gone from strength to strength together, with their debut EP dropping in 2018, the boys have created a small stir in the Manchester scene. We’ve asked Chris and Steve to close our party with an all out Drum and Bass assault! Steve, who’s been a DnB head for over a decade will be emptying his record bag to bring you some timeless classics, whilst Chris will be playing around with the funky bootleg side of things!
Imagine Frank Sinatra having a sexual affair with a bass bin. Skank Spinatra is their illegitimate child. Behind the decks his entrancing bushy brows and twisted limbs combine into a funky fuelled banger extravaganza.
Hailing from Cornwall, Quack Tactics is a founding member of the Digitise team. With a passion for all things glitchy and a curiosity for Hip Hop, Dave’s music taste focus’s around the mid-tempo range. Expect booming kicks, interesting sounds and an ear to ear grin from a DJ making his Manchester Debut!
Dom James is our head honcho and mastermind, if you were at our first event you will have seen a pure masterclass of tune selection and DJing, Dom has already prepared for round two and is ready to once again smash another home run.
