The first edition of Astral Daze I is upon the horizon. Happy Daze and Astral Elevator are collaborating to bring you a fine evening of psych that sees the likes of Purple Heart Parade, Kill Your Boyfriend, Dead Sea Apes, The Dirt, Ahmed and The Romans, Sawel Underground, Gekko to Gekikou and Sinkr over at The Peer Hat and Aatma.

Remaining relatively quiet whilst they have been busy working away at their debut album, Manchesters shoegazers Purple Heart Parade are ready to step back into the limelight. If you have been following our socials (Purple Heart Parade and Happy Daze) you’ll have seen that we have recently posted a snippet of new track ‘Always’ on social media. With their last release ‘Desolation Angel’ coming in 2019 with Clash Magazine describing ‘Petrichor’ as an “interstellar ride”, you know the album is guaranteed to be pure ethereal bliss (we know it is, because we’re heard it live). Support comes from Dead Sea Apes, a band we have been trying to book for a while for their heavily prog-influenced concoction of drone, krautrock, and psych experimentalism. The Dirt is the new project of spoken word poet Jack Horner (Leon The Pig Farmer) and partner Sachicko  Wakizaka who layer shoegaze style guitar, electronic rhythms overlayed with abrasive spoken word, and Gekko to Gekikou which means moonlight and rage. The Japanese band combines improvised punk noise dub jazz garage alt-rock blues and love.
