VIEON
Epic, immersive electronica and audio-visual performance from Coventry and Todmorden. Vieon’s sound is inspired by 70s and 80s electronic film soundtracks and lush synthpop filtered through a long-time appreciation for post-rock and IDM.

BJØRN FELLE
Sitting on a branch with a Game Boy and a cup of earl grey, Bjørn Felle takes pot-shots at narcissists with an idiosyncratic electronic sound inspired by 80s synthpop and punk, 90s techno, house and indie grunge, the odd 16-bit video game soundtrack, and a healthy dose of psychedelia.

Analoguetrash presents…
Flange Circus bring their unique brand of hauntronica – an unnerving concoction of electronics and the phantasmagorical – back to Manchester this May. Support comes from Bjørn Felle and Cynthia’s Periscope.
Line-up
Flange Circus
Expect neo-kraut stompers, drones, industrialism, horror soundtracks, channelled samples, spectraltechno, megalithic slow burners, and boggart beats. Flange Circus live shows involve (analogue) electronics, haunting visuals, and often (bird) masks, seeking to both disorientate audiences and make them dance.

Doors 19:30pm
Dhangsha (Bengali for ‘destruction’) is the project and alias of electronic artist Aniruddha Das. He works at the interface of bass culture and experimental noise, creating a kind of “mutant dancehall” where distorted ‘alien’ motifs evolve and disintegrate over sparse but heavy beats. He explores minimalism, repetition and fragmentation, instigating turbulent interactions between metered and non-metric rhythm. Aside from releasing a handful of albums, including “Live at Spirit of Gravity” and “Aberrant,” the latter with label Hard Return, he has contributed to compilations by Iklectik, Syrphe and Avon Terror Corps. He is part of the ground breaking vinyl compilation “Disruptive Frequencies,” on Nonclassical, which received a storming review in The Wire. Dhangsha’s overwhelming passion is playing live. He has performed at the Bogotrax electronic festival in Colombia and has toured throughout the UK and in Europe both solo and supporting political/electronic duo Yao Bobby & Simon Grab. He is set to appear this autumn at Iklectik’s live series “Black Industrial/Noise.” He is a commissioned participant of the AHRC-funded initiative “Exploring Cultural Diversity in Experimental Sound,” examining the relative lack of Black and South Asian practitioners in experimental music in the UK.

Lucia H Chung is a Taiwanese artist based in London, United Kingdom. She performs and releases music under the alias en creux where the sound creation springs from her fascinations in noise generated through no-input feedback mixing board. The volatile nature of the system and the unpredictable glitch from the excessive energy pouring into the equipment becomes her improvisational and compositional strategy. Lucia’s passion lies in live performance and has regularly performed solo and with collaborators in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America, including Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival, Krama Festival, and Lisboa Soa Festival.
‘Fuzz comes alive, moving at odd angles like the sinuous threads are being chased by a series of subatomic bleeps and flashes. Tension rises as the tempo picks up, fueling the disjointed rhythmic quality within each sterile, self-contained unit.’ – Fox Digitalis
Pokk! is the co-founder and contributor to the anarcho-collectivist, anti- capitalist, agile electronic music label sometimes referred to as SM-LL, Small, or “the label”. Initiated under the premise and values found in counter culture and electronic music’s position away from the mainstream money engine and the ego’s intent for popularity. Indoctrinated on repetitive, rhythmic electronic music, sometimes full of hiss, bass, clicks, glitches and shifting patterns, often focused around one or two sounds. This is easier than having to layer things.
“No info on this one, obviously…But nothing’s that simple is it?…There’s something reassuring about the anonymity of music that sounds like a factory floor filled with malfunctioning industrial machinery…One for the Vladislav Delay devotees for sure…Emulsified dub radicals and grubbing post techno residues” – Boomkat
